John W. Hurst

Attorney’s Profile

John Hurst’s practice focuses on plaintiff’s personal injury, including car accidents, wrongful death, trucking accidents, premises liability, and general tort law. He represents victims of accidents throughout the State of Georgia. In addition to his personal injury practice, he also represents injured workers in workers’ compensation cases.

After graduating from Emory University School of Law in 2005, he spent nearly half a decade as an insurance defense lawyer, defending insurance companies in personal injury lawsuits and workers’ compensation cases. During this time, he worked on hundreds of cases and learned the insurance industry’s defense tactics and strategies. Working as an insurance defense attorney gave John the experience and perspective to know how insurance companies evaluate and defend personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. After years on the defense side, John decided to make a switch, taking his knowledge and experience and using it to help the injured.

His knowledge of the tactics used by insurance companies to deny or limit the value of your case is invaluable during negotiations, mediations, and litigation. Having this knowledge is why he’s so effective in representing the cases he accepts. In other words, Mr. Hurst knows how to fight insurance companies on their own terms.

John Hurst is a native of Atlanta. He attended college at Auburn University and graduated with honors, cum laude, with a major in Political Science in 2002. He then went to law school at Emory University and graduated in 2005. Today, Mr. Hurst only represents people injured from the negligence of others and people injured while at work. He prides himself on providing high quality, aggressive representation for his clients. He is an active member of State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
